Recent data published in Alimentary Pharmacology & Therapeutics, have shown that the prevalence of abdominal cramping, pain and discomfort – commonly associated with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) – has been globally underestimated.

Insights from a multi-national epidemiological study into this area show that almost one in three people in the UK suffer from these troublesome, and sometimes debilitating symptoms.
