Double-blind clinical trial results recently published in Alimentary Pharmacology & Therapeutics, have provided further evidence to conclude that Buscopan® tablets (hyoscine butylbromide) is an effective and well-tolerated treatment for abdominal cramping, pain and discomfort, commonly associated with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS).

The results show that Buscopan® provided a medically relevant and statistically significant reduction in the frequency and intensity of painful abdominal attacks. These results reconfirm earlier clinical trial data for Buscopan® and support the use of Buscopan IBS Relief as an effective treatment for this ailment.
